Database Administrator (DBA) – Job Summary

Position Overview

The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the design, administration, security, performance, availability, backup, and recovery of the Bank’s databases and database infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Oracle and other enterprise databases supporting critical banking applications.
  • Monitor database availability, performance, capacity, and resource utilization.
  • Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and maintenance.
  • Implement and manage database backup, restore, and recovery procedures.
  • Support disaster recovery (DR), business continuity, and high-availability requirements.
  • Develop and maintain database security controls, including users, roles, privileges, and access policies.
  • Monitor and optimize SQL queries, database performance, indexes, storage, and database resources.
  • Perform database troubleshooting and resolve production database incidents.
  • Support Core Banking, Digital Banking, Mobile Banking, Internet Banking, ERP, payment systems, and other integrated applications.
  • Manage database replication, standby databases, clustering, or other HA technologies where applicable.
  • Maintain database documentation, architecture diagrams, configuration records, and operational procedures.
  • Perform database health checks and proactively identify potential risks and performance issues.
  • Support application teams with database design, schema management, SQL development, and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in database migrations, upgrades, integrations, and system implementations.
  • Ensure database activities comply with the Bank’s information security, audit, regulatory, and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate with vendors and technology partners on database-related incidents and technical activities.
  • Maintain proper change-management procedures for database modifications.
  • Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and preventive-action planning.
  • Provide technical support during system deployments, testing, UAT, and production releases.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Database Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in database administration, preferably within banking or financial services.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Database administration.
  • Good knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Experience with database backup and recovery technologies such as RMAN.
  • Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, replication, and database security.
  • Experience working with Linux/Unix environments.
  • Understanding of Core Banking and financial application database environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with infrastructure, application, security, and banking operations teams.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with external vendors and technology partners.

Key Objective

The primary objective of the DBA is to ensure that the Bank’s databases remain secure, available, reliable, recoverable, and performant, while supporting the continuous operation and growth of critical banking services.

Marketing Officer

Marketing Officer – Job Summary

The Marketing Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring marketing activities that strengthen Wadaag Bank’s brand, increase customer acquisition, promote banking products and services, and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns for banking products, digital banking, cards, financing, and other services.
  • Manage the bank’s social media platforms, website content, and digital marketing activities.
  • Create engaging marketing materials, announcements, campaigns, and promotional content.
  • Coordinate with branches and business teams to support customer acquisition and product promotion.
  • Conduct market and competitor research to identify new opportunities and customer needs.
  • Support customer awareness campaigns and financial education initiatives.
  • Coordinate marketing events, product launches, community activities, and promotional programs.
  • Monitor campaign performance and prepare regular marketing reports and recommendations.
  • Ensure all marketing materials follow the bank’s brand identity and communication standards.
  • Work closely with management, IT, Digital Banking, Business Development, and Operations teams to promote new services.
  • Maintain consistent and professional communication across all customer-facing channels.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience in marketing, preferably within banking, financial services, or telecommunications.
  • Strong digital marketing and social media skills.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Creativity and ability to develop compelling marketing campaigns.
  • Basic knowledge of analytics and campaign performance measurement.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple departments.
  • Good understanding of the local market and customer behavior.

Preferred

  • Experience promoting digital banking or financial products.
  • Knowledge of SEO, Google Ads, Meta Ads, email marketing, and content management.
  • Experience with graphic design or tools such as Canva/Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of banking products and customer acquisition strategies.
